Mounted on album leaf with photographer's credit and title in ink and Amateur Photographic Association membership reference number in pencil on mount, mounted back-to-back with another photograph; with two other albumen prints, each mounted on card, titled Juggernat Car and Juggernauth Car on mounts, one mounted back-to-back with another photograph.

Lot Essay

Dumergue was a member of the Amateur Photographic Association, an organisation which flourished from the early 1860s into the 1870s. The majority of the membership was British, with several members working abroad. Members contributed prints which were then circulated in albums to other members in a traditional exchange system.
