Edo period, (19th Century)
Decorated on the cover, sides and underside of the cover and interior with a continuous felicitous wedding scene of Mount Horai, with wading crames, minogame, pine and bamboo in gold and silver takamaki-e, hirame, gold foil and okibirame on a dense nashiji ground which is additionally lacquered with sixteen-petal chrysanthemum and paulownia medallions; fitted with two trays for writing utensils and with a central rectangular tray holding the inkstone and gilt-copper mizuire, the ground of the lower interior and base roiro and sparse nashiji
