A silver gelatin photograph of 19-year old Marilyn, as Queen Norma Jean Dougherty, 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 in. She had just won a beauty pageant at Radioplane where she worked supporting the boys overseas; her occupation there was listed as "Inspector-parachutes-trainee" and specifically "Doper-Brush" where she was rated as an above-average employee.
With a photostatic copy of Marilyn's employment form, and two copies of Radioplane Static, the in-house employee magazine, Los Angeles, July 15, 1944, which includes a paragraph about Queen Norma, who received a $50 War Bond as a prize, and August 31, 1944, in which she is mentioned for winning a gold button for making a useful suggestion with respect to plant operations.
