Lot Essay

The majority of the photographs relate to the families of W.G. Wood, Chief Engineer and A.A. Woodhouse, who served with the police in India. Including several images of tiger shoots and men on elephants; group portraits, the Agra Royal Garden Party; images from the Engineer's Conference in Lucknow; images showing the construction of bridges and buildings; ceremony for the Delhi Durbar 1912, including two photographs mounted as a panorama; several views and architectural studies.
