t the 1908 Kunstchau in Vienna, Hoffmann presented a model country house, for which he designed bentwood furniture, manufactured by J.&.J.Kohn. A contemporary photograph of the display (illustrated Deutsche Kunst und Dekoration, October 1908, p.37) shows a two- seat version of the present design placed on the porch.
The 1906 J.&.J.Kohn catalogue offered the present armchair version for sale, under cat. no 371/F 3Cf.
