Lot Essay

Contemporary photographs of the interior of the Lanique apartment show chairs en suite with the present stool placed in the main salon in 1924. Like the table in the previous lot, the incorporation of the stool into the 1923 Lanique scheme represents one of the earliest uses by Chareau of this particular design in a planned interior.
