Lot Essay

Gropius produced several designs for Arthur Krupps Berndorf works, which were exhibited at the Deutsche Werkbund exhibition, Cologne, 1914. (see Dekorative Kunst 1916). The attribution to Walter Gropius has been supported by the Bauhaus Archive, Berlin, in correspondence with the present owner.
