ENGINE: SIX CYLINDER, DOUBLE OVERHEAD CAMSHAFT, 3,781CC, 265BHP AT 5,500RPM; GEARBOX: FOUR SPEED MANUAL; BRAKES: DISC ALL ROUND; SUSPENSION: FRONT, INDEPENDENT, TORSION BAR, ANTI-ROLL BAR, REAR, INDEPENDENT WITH LOWER WISHBONES, RADIUS ARMS, COIL SPRINGS, ANTI-ROLL BAR. RIGHT HAND DRIVE.

AS AN EARLY 1962 CAR, THIS 3.8 LITRE "FLAT FLOOR" ROADSTER IS ONE OF THE MOST DESIRABLE E-TYPES. THESE EARLY CARS WERE VERY FAST, FAR QUICKER THAN THE XK150 THAT THEY REPLACED AND PROVIDED 0-60 IN UNDER 7 SECONDS WITH A TOP SPEED OF 150MPH. THE INCREDIBLE AERODYNAMIC SHAPE IS STILL AS SENSATIONAL NOW AS WHEN IT WAS FIRST UNVEILED AT THE GENEVA MOTOR SHOW IN 1961.

THIS PARTICULAR CAR COMES WITH A CERTIFICATE OF BUILD FROM THE JAGUAR DAIMLER HERITAGE TRUST CONFIRMING ITS DATE OF MANUFACTURE AS APRIL 23 1962, AND THAT IT WAS FIRST SUPPLIED BY PARKERS OF MANCHESTER. THE CONDITION IS EXCELLENT HAVING BEEN THE SUBJECT OF A MAJOR RESTORATION IN RECENT YEARS. THE ORIGINAL ENGINE WAS REBUILT USING NEW VALVES, PISTONS, RINGS, BEARINGS AND THE CRANKSHAFT WAS REGROUND. IT WAS CAREFULLY RE-ASSEMBLED WITH NEW CORE PLUGS, TIMING CHAINS AND ALSO HAD A NEW OIL PUMP INSTALLED. MUCH WORK WAS CARRIED OUT ON THE SUSPENSION AND BRAKES OFTEN REPLACING WITH NEW PARTS INCLUDING COIL SPRINGS, SHOCK ABSORBERS, BRAKE CYLINDERS AND PADS. THE BODYWORK WAS ALSO FULLY RESTORED AND DETAILED, AND A NEW WINDSCREEN AND SIDE WINDOWS FITTED. THE INTERIOR AND CHROME ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, IT HAS CHROME WIRE WHEELS AND COMES WITH A CURRENT M.O.T. CERTIFICATE. THE VEHICLE HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN DURING THE SUMMER MONTHS AND THE ENGINE HAS COVERED JUST 500 MILES SINCE THE REBUILD IN 1991/92.
