The Woodlark is a heathland bird with the most beautiful song. It's habitat is in rapid decline and the Woodlark is now a very scarce breeding species in England and decreasing in numbers throughout Europe.
The Stone Curlew is a bird of dry open ground such as heath and agricultural grassland. It has suffered a widespread decline throughout Europe due to the development of intensive mainly arable farming of its natural habitats. There are now 150-160 breeding pairs in the United Kingdom notably in the Brecklands area of East Anglia
