A LOMBARD PEWTER AND IVORY-INLAID WALNUT SERPENTINE COMMODE, mid-18th Century
Inlaid overall with floral trails, birds and animal heads, the canted rectangular top with moulded edge and banded with laurel trails, centred by an inlaid niche with a putto, above three long drawers flanked by rounded angles and on cabriole legs headed by foliate carving, the drawers re-lined, the back replaced, probably in England in the 19th Century, the reverse with depository label indistinctly inscribed and chalked 116
