13 original parts, large 2° (563 x 387mm). 2pp. subscribers' list. 182 FINE HAND-COLOURED LITHOGRAPHIC PLATES, most heightened with gum-arabic, by Gould and Henry Constantine Richter, printed by Hullmandel & Walton. (Some spotting to text and plates, affecting the image of about 45 plates, single pin-hole running through the back cover, some text leaves and the final three plates in part 5, a single plate in part 9 with slight offsetting from facing text.) Original paper-covered cloth-backed boards, each upper cover with printed title including a wood-engraved vignette (a reverse copy of the 'Long-tailed Belideus' plate in part I), a list of the animals contained within and the date of publication, (some soiling, particularly to the upper cover of part I, occasional small tears to spines, some slight damage to corners and extremities).
