Lot Essay

The image shows the same type of iconography as seen in lot 55. However the body is relatively slender, recalling the 9th century phase of the Dvaravati-style. In spite of its frontal pose and the heavy accent on symmetry, the figure looks elegant and mobile. The facial features, sensitively modelled, displays a meditative and gentle look.
