A PARCEL-GILT AND NIELLOED CHALICE, on a wide circular domed foot, chased and engraved with waved bands, foliate scrolls and rocaille, engraved to the base with various cyrillic inscriptions, and applied with four oval niello plaques depicting various scenes of the suffering of Christ including the ascent to Calvary, and Agony in the Garden, partly fluted and balustroid stem, the cup applied with openworked foliage, flowers and rocaille and applied with a further four nielloed plaques depicting Saints and religious symbols, the spreading rim with cyrillic inscriptions, by unidentified maker, in cyrillic A.W.I.
