A PAIR OF MEISSEN PORCELAIN PUG DOGS (carlins), modelled by Kaendler, facing to the left and to the right, as a dog and a bitch with a puppy beneath, their coats painted in shades of brown with black snouts and brown eyes, the bitch wearing a purple collar enriched with gilding, tied with blue bows, the dog wearing a bell collar, seated on mound bases encrusted with flowers and leaves (bitch with repaired tail, minor repair to tail dog), indistinct blue crossed swords to underside of dog and to the rear of the bitch, circa 1740
