Manuscript. Memorial book in Hebrew and Yiddish of the Hazkarat Neshamot-foundation of Karitschan in Moravia.
40 leaves, 16 in handwriting, 25 x 20 cm., with a note in German by David Rosenfeld. Some staining, tooled leather binding. Good condition.
The Hazkarat Neshamot (memorial prayer for the dead)-foundation of Karitschan was established in 1863 by Rabbi Chayyim Tsevi Ha-kohen, and ended in 1922 by Rabbi Moshe Jehuda Ludwig Kohen. The annals of the foundation, besides lists of names, contains an historically most interesting description of the progroms of 1914, 1915 and 1916 by the Russians.
