THE LATE EDITH CAMPENDONK-VAN LECKWYCK, AMSTERDAM
Edith Campendonk-van Leckwyck (1899-1987), Belgian artist married to the German painter Heinrick Campendonk from the Munich artist group Der blaue Reiter.
Influenced by Floris Jespers, Belgian artist, she discovered the fairy-like colours and light effects of glass. Her experiments with glass painting and collection of glass objects illustrate how much this material appealed to her.
