Cf. A similar dish illustrated by Howard and Ayers, vol. 1, p. 76, op. cit, no. 34, where the authors suggest that the design derives from a Dutch Delft original; tiled floors are frequently seen in contemporaneous Dutch prints, and appear also on the 'Great scene of Folly' plates copying Dutch satirical prints, of about twenty years later.
