the base with maker's mark in Cyrillic N.A., Moscow, 1801, assaymaster Alexei Vikhlaiev, also struck with Alderman's initial O.P., the cup later

The domed and waisted circular base cast with a band of leaves and ovals and a band of egg-and-dart motif above, and further cast and engraved with four ovals centred with symbols of the passion and joined with foliate sprays, the cup engraved with stylised scrolls surrounding ovals centred with saints, and with engraved Cyrillic inscriptions above - 29cm high (543gr)
