A SAXON ENGRAVED GOBLET, for the Dutch market, the generous thistle-shaped bowl engraved with a seated aristocratic gentleman toasting, his lady companion at the other side of the table, flanked by two floral scrolls, the reverse inscribed in Dutch VIVAT DAT ONS WEL MAG GAHN IN UNSE AUDE DAGE, (sic) the lower part and stem cut with arches and ovals supported on angular knop above inverted baluster section and base knop, on folded domed foot, circa 1750
