Lot Essay

The Moti Musjid was built by Shah Jahan and not by Aurungzebe as stated in the inscription. The Moti Musjid was made entirely of white marble and completed in 1653. It was built on high ground so that the three domes could be seen over the forts walls. This particular view shows the deep prayer hall on the western side. This is encompassed on three sides by marble cloisters. There is an inscription on the facade that records that it took seven years to build and cost 300,000 rupees
