Lot Essay

The garden containing the tomb of Humayun's Barber's lies to the south of the Purana Qila Fort east of the Mathura Road in Delhi. In the southeast corner of this garden is the Barber's tomb (shown here) which can be dated back to 1590. Although it is unclear for whom the tomb was intended, the belief is widely held that it was constructed for Humayun's barber, one of his favourite servants
