Lot Essay

Two other Pin-Up Girls were exhibited in the Robert Fraser exhibition. 'These three paintings are from photographs in girlie magazines, and they are quite free from comment. They are intended to serve as pin-ups and the artist feels that he has been faithful to the spirit of the reproductions, but ... he finds human warmth where others find only clicha© and exploitation' (R. Melville (op. cit.)
