Lot Essay

The hexagonal lanterns, with arched and acanthus-enriched glazed panels, are designed in the Louis XV picturesque manner of the mid 18th century and fitted with four scrolled candlebranches. A pair of this pattern were sold Sotheby's, Monaco, 23 June 1991, lot 877.
