A FRENCH ORMOLU AND GRIOTTE MARBLE GARNITURE
In the Louis XVI style, late 19th century

Comprising a clock and a pair of six-light candelabra, the clock surmounted by an urn with berried finial and with foliate pendants, the enamelled dial signed LEMERLE-CHARPENTIER Bronzier 8 rue Charlot Paris, with twin-train movement, flanked by a pair of fluted columns, on rectangular breakfront base with toupie feet, the candelabra each with a central spirally-fluted stem supporting five foliate-cast scrolling branches with fluted nozzles and foliate-cast drip-pans, above a coloumn upright flanked to each side by a ribbon-tied flower-filled cornucopiae, on a rectangular base with rounded ends and foliate-cast frieze, on a griotte marble plinth with scrolling foliate-cast frieze and on toupie feet
