The master wearing an elaborately plumed hat, a white-spotted pale-blue suit and a claret shawl, his right arm upraised as he directs the steps of a young couple wearing striped and flowered dress, another couple dancing behind him, on a tree-stump grassy oval base applied with a basket of flowers and with musical instruments, the border moulded with white and gilt scrolls (restoration to boys' hats and to musical instruments and base, minute chips to petals, minute chip to frill of master's sleeve), blue crossed swords mark, Pressnummer 101, incised C.15., painted number 44
