Lot Essay

A drawing in red chalk of an allegorical figure with flowers by a tree on the verso would seem to be by another hand.
A drawing very comparble in subject, handling and size, previously in the Perman collection, is illustrated by W. Bernt, Die Niederländischen Maler und Zeichner des 17. Jahrhunderts, Munich, 1979, IV, no. 144, another is in the Rijksprentenkabinet, Amsterdam (inv.no. 1942:4)
