Lot Essay

As pointed out by Salomonson (op.cit., p.22), this is a version of a slightly smaller drawing in the Gemeentearchief, Utrecht. The old Wittevrouwenpoort was demolished in 1648 (see also lots 365 and 425 in this sale)
