Lot Essay

Originally attributed to Jan de Beyer, in the 1975/6 catalogue this drawing was attributed to Paul van Liender based on a comparison to a drawing of the same view in the Gemeentearchief, Rotterdam. The present lot would seem to have been drawn ad vivum, the Rotterdam drawing would seem to be the final version, including figures and several other details
