A RARE PEWTER ART NOUVEAU CHANUKKAH LAMP

The high, shaped rectangular backplate with two rectangular projections on each side, pierced and decorated with two trees in bloom growing between the projections at the sides, with buds at the top, the centre depicting two outspread hands raised in priestly blessing beneath a pitcher and the owner's initials in Hebrew, fronted by a semi-circle-shaped base divided into eight oil-compartments, (one panel damaged, one lacking), each fitted with a wick-holder radiating around a semi circle hollow domed centre piece, containing the detachable servant-light with wick-holder, surmounted by a round plaque decorated with a rampant lion within Star of David, signed on the reverse of the backplate with the initials of the artist MB, Mogens Ballin - 35cm high
