Lot Essay

Dr. Sam Segal has kindly confirmed the attribution and compares the present lot to two still lives by the artist, one in Stockholm, dated 1629 (Nationalmuseum Stockholm Illustrated Catalogue European Paintings, 1990, inv.no. NM348, p. 36, with ill.), the other signed and dated 1627, exhibited at P. de Boer, Amsterdam, A Flowery Past, 13 March - 11 April 1982, no. 44, with ill.
