The deeply-curved padded back, arm-rests and squab cushion covered in green striped silk, with palmette cresting and moulded channelled frame with down-scrolled arm-supports and on fluted turned tapering legs headed by reeded collars and flowerhead panels, on turned feet, re-gilt re-railed retaining the surface of the old rails

The combination of arched back, French-scrolled arms, and reed-capped legs with flute-enrichments feature on arm-chairs, which are thought to have been supplied for Warwick Castle, Warwickshire in the 1770s by Mayhew & Ince of Golden Square. The chairs were sold from Warwick Castle, in these Rooms, 21 March 1968, lot 115
