The associated canted rectangular top veneered with triangular sections within a crossbanded border, above a honeycomb blind fret-panelled frieze flanked by acanthus-sprays on square tapering fluted legs and block feet with similar acanthus-sprays, extensive restorations to top, the top cradled and previously with gallery, the base reduced in width to fit the top

The heavily canted rectangular top and parquetry inlay relate to a pier table supplied by Mayhew and Ince to the Earl of Kerry in about 1770 and now in the Lady Lever Art Gallery (see: Charles Cator, 'The Idlest Ostentation', Furniture History, 1990, p. 32, fig. 1)
