Professor Jaap Bolten kindly points out that there is a copy after the present lot in the Kupferstichkabinett, Berlin (E. Bock, J. Rosenberg, Die Niederländischen Meister, Berlin, 1931, no. 221), another copy was in a Dutch private collection in 1975. The drawing is probably part of a series of studies of heads by the artist
