Lot Essay

The castle De Haar dated from 1162, and was heavily damaged during the French invasion in 1672. In 1891-1906 it was restored and partly reconstructed by the architect P.J.H. Cuypers for the Van Zuylen van Nijevelt family, who still resides at the castle
