AN IMPORTANT DUTCH TORAH SHIELD

Of architectural design, the arched upper part representing the Tablets of the Law, finely engraved in Hebrew with the first words of the Ten Commandments, set between three applied slightly tapering columns, the side pillars surmounted by the Star of David, the central pillar topped by a partly openwork applied crown with bud-shaped finial, the lower section with arched edge, centered by a compartment holding three interchangeable festival plaques, finely double-sided engraved in Hebrew, hung beneath with four bells, the whole fitted with a suspension chain - 29cm high (755gr)
