In the early 1920s, Huib de Ru (1902-1980) worked for the firm of W. Bogtman in Haarlem. In 1926, together with Nico Schrier, he opened his own leaded glass workshop in Haarlem. His designs for leaded glass are of figurative, naturalistic and detailed anatomical nature. For private clients, friends and himself he designed windows depicting portraits and nudes
