A PUG-SHAPED SNUFF-BOX AND A SILVER-MOUNTED HORN GUN-POWDER BOX
the former with maker's mark in Cyrillic ML, perhaps for Martyn Lavrow, Moscow, circa 1820, the latter second half 19th Century, also struck with later russian control marks

The snuff-box formed as a pug wearing a gilt-metal collar, the base with hinged lid; the horn mounted at the top with a domed cover raised with C-scrolls, flowers and foliage and set in the centre with a a large paste (2)
