A WAISTED OIL AND VINEGAR CRUET WITH CASTER
the cruet by Coenraad Mensbier, Delft, possibly 1742, the bottle mounts and the caster with indistinct marks

The cruet on shell and scrolling feet and with two double scroll handles, the two shaped square bottle holders pierced with trelliswork, shells and foliage, the caster holder engraved with an armorial with coronet above, the two cut glass bottles with spiral-fluted mounts, leaf-capped double scroll handles and shell-chased hinged covers with shell thumb-pieces, the octagonal waisted caster with baluster finial, the bottle lids and the caster each engraved with the same crest, the caster also engraved with a further crest - 20.50cm wide (665gr free)
