The original, probably painted for a church in Delft and in the 17th century recorded in the Mayor's room in the Townhall, is now in the Frans Hals Museum, Haarlem. Grosshans (loc.cit.) records another copy after this well-known composition in the church of Saint Mary, Bocholt, Germany
