Nicolaas Martinus Boogaert, son of Paulus Boogaert (see lot 84) was maritime lawyer in Rotterdam. He married Lydia Cornelia van Riel, daughter of Olivier van Riel and Johanna van Rijckevorsel (see the next lot and lot 80)

The inscription on the harpsichord refers to the well known family of Flemish harpsichord makers, which was active in Antwerp circa 1580-1670
M.J. Kinker does not seem to be recorded as a draughtsman

The attribution has been kindly confirmed by Dr J.W. Niemeijer, after seeing the original (oral information)
