Lot Essay

Thomas Sheraton, who published The Cabinet Maker's and Upholsterer's Drawing Book in 1791 and whose office was close to the Broadwood workshop, is said to have furnished designs for several pieces of Broadwood's showroom furniture and is known to have supplied designs for a Broadwood grand in 1796.
