The architect Jan Wils was a pupil of H.P. Berlage (1914-16) and a member of the movement 'De Stijl' (1917-19). He designed and built f.i. the Olympic Stadion, Amsterdam (1926-28).
Wils was an admirer and collector of Isaac Israels' work.
