A copy of the main protagonists in the 'Madonna and Child adored by the four great Penitents and other Saints' at Cassel, on canvas, 257 x 202 cm (see M. Jaffé, Catalogo completo Rubens, 1989, no. 541), the execution of which is thought to have been the work of Rubens's studio, perhaps Anthony van Dyck. It was acquired by Landgraf Wilhelm VIII of Hessen by 1749
