The original, on panel, 63 x 51 cm, was in the collection of the Palazzo Pitti since 1818 and entered the Gallerie degli Uffizi in 1922 (see J. Bruyn et.al., A Corpus of Rembrandt Paintings, 1985, I, no. B11)
