One of Raphaels' most well known compositions and executed in oils probably by Giulio Romano. The Prado picture, on ...., ... x ... cm, had been acquired by Charles I from Vincenzo I Gonzaga, and at the Commonwealth dispersal of Charles' collection it was acquired by Philip IV of Spain (see L. Dussler, Raphael, 1971, p. 51)
