The composition follows the engraving (Hollstein no. 6) by Boetius Adams Bolswert (1580-1633) after Rubens's painting, on canvas, 261 x 194 cm, destroyed in 1945 in Berlin (see M. Jaffé, Catalogo Completo Rubens, 1989, no. 157). More bystanders are included in the print which was no doubt designed by Rubens
