A MEISSEN CIRCULAR TWO-HANDLED ÉCUELLE, COVER AND STAND painted in puce camaieu in the style of Watteau with gallants and companions in landscape vignettes, one holding a bird and another with a dog, the well of the stand with a bouquet and the rims with gilt scroll, dot and line bands, the entwined green branch handles with flower terminals and the cover with a lemon and blossom finial (minor chips to flower terminals and finial, chip to footrim of stand), blue crossed swords marks, the écuelle with two dots, gilder's n. to all pieces, impressed D to écuelle and stand, circa 1750
