Dorothy Limouze has kindly pointed out the print after this drawing, suggesting that it may be by Paul Bril done for the engraver. The second edition of the print bears the address of Jan Sadeler's son Justus, who ran the family publishing firm in Venice. Jan Sadeler worked in Venice in circa 1595-1600 making engravings after other artists, and the present lot may be dated to that period
