(1) This may be dated to September 1653 during the artist's journey through Germany, Switzerland and France in 1652-3, and is comparable in subject, handling and size to a drawing of Kaub on the Rhine in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum, Bonn, bearing a similar inscription, B. Sliggers, Dagelijckse aentekeningen van Vincent Laurensz. van de Vinne, Haarlem, 1979, illustrated p. 11
