Lisbon, maker's mark DMS, unrecorded, late 18th Century

Raised on three cast shell-shaped feet, the large shell-shaped basin surrounded with large and small rocaille motifs, shells and openworked foliate scrolls, the basin applied with a handle in the shape of a murmaid adorned with flowers and holding a shell abover her head - 48cm long (2546gr)
